Certification

The I&M station has following certifications and an authorize body for vehicle fitness certificate by Government. The station has following authorizations received from government:

1) Government of Assam vide letter No# TMV.214/2011/31 dated 27th September 2012 confirmed NIAIMT’s I&M station as an authorize fitness testing center under the provision of Central Motor Vehicle Rule -62, 1989.

2) Transport department Govt. of Assam in another letter No# TMV.214/2012/44 dated 26th December 2012 confirmed that NIAIMT’s IMS is competent to test and issue fitness certificate of commercial vehicles equivalent to fitness certificate issued by MVI’s.

3) Govt. of Assam has mandated all commercial vehicles of Cachar district of Assam to be tested at the Automated Testing Station (ATS) of NIAIMT, Silchar Center for the purpose of issuance of Fitness Certificates from 1st June 2022. This is with reference to letter number TMV.342/2019/127 dated 19th May 2022 and CST/E/181/2018/1846 dated 24th May 2022 from Govt. of Assam.
